Coming Soon: Wishing On A Star by Terri Osburn

Hello! Big thank you to Tracey for giving me the opportunity to visit here today. I appreciate the chance to talk about my forthcoming release, WISHING ON A STAR, which is the third installment in my Shooting Stars series and will release on Dec 11, 2018.

First off, if you haven’t read the first two books in the series, that’s no problem. These books are all written to stand alone. The only repeating elements are the setting—Nashville, Tennessee—and the fictitious Shooting Stars Records, the newest label in town run by the sexy and enigmatic Clay Benedict. So with that one sentence, you’re up to speed on the series.

WISHING ON A STAR is a slow burn romance (something I didn’t realize until well into the writing) that is a twist on the best friend’s younger sister trope. Or is it the older brother’s best friend trope? Either way, you get the idea, except there are complications with this one. Many years ago, the hero Ash Shepherd, the heroine Jesse Gold, and Jesse’s brother Tommy were involved in a car accident that took her brother’s life.

Ash was driving. They haven’t seen each other since.

As you can imagine, Jesse learning that the only producer willing to work on her debut album is the man who’d walked out of her life after that tragic night does not go over well. Jesse never had a crush on Ash, but he was her closest connection to Tommy, so him abandoning her meant she lost both of them at the same time. She’s resentful, angry, and hurt, and those are never a positive combination, especially for a fiery redhead.

For his part, Ash lives with constant guilt and his exit from Jesse’s life was not by choice. Being offered this opportunity to help make her dreams come true is a much-needed shot at making amends for something he can never undo or expect forgiveness. He promised Tommy that he’d watch over his impetuous and daring younger sister, but being forced to keep his distance has made that difficult.

After some tough conversations, they get to work, but neither is prepared for the sparks that ignite between them. Jesse is in a long-term relationship with someone else, and Ash is determined to maintain his role as her protector and nothing more. Until one stormy night when everything changes...

This is a story about two people forging a new relationship as adults, learning to forgive—both each other and themselves, and struggling to let go of the past in order to embrace a future that neither of them ever imagined. The stakes are high, both personally and professionally, as two wounded artists battle their own insecurities while making beautiful music together.

PS: That last line is super cheesy but I like it anyway. 😊

WISHING ON A STAR, Shooting Stars book 3, releases Dec 11, 2018 for Kindle and print (will be available through KU) and is up for preorder now!

Thanks again to Tracey for letting me hang out with her today. For fun, I’ll give a $5.00 Amazon gift card to one lucky commenter here. Just tell me what wish you would make on a star.
